FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION

God is a Father who cares deeply for vulnerable children. He not only commands His people to care for the orphan and the widow (James 1:27), but He promises to be with us when we do. He is an adoptive Father who calls His people to reflect His nature and character to the world.

At Cedar Mill, we desire to reflect God’s great love to children in our community and beyond. Like the prophet Isaiah, God invites us to bind up the brokenhearted, set the captive free, release the prisoners from darkness, comfort all who mourn, provide for those who grieve, bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair.

While we engage the needs of vulnerable children through various initiatives like Welcome Boxes, Royal Family Kids’ Camp, foster parenting, and respite care, we want to equip and support individuals and families who have welcomed these children into their homes and hearts. With this in mind, we offer an Exploring Foster Care and Adoption class, specialized training, and a support group for foster and adoptive families.

For more information about how to get involved or how to become a foster or adoptive parent, please contact Paul or Bethany Richter at prichter@cmbc.org or brichter@cmbc.org.
