Andy Tsen came to us from the wheat fields of Kansas. In his spare time he enjoys good food, biking the scenic byways, and reading epic books with friends. Andy admits to a fascination with Marvel Comics and the struggle between good and evil. He and his wife Ann, are the parents of Lizzy and Josh. His favorite scripture is Matthew 9:35-38.
Originally from Los Angeles (Eagle Rock), Dave Avery ended up in Portland via Seattle. Dave was inspired during his college years during Bible classes taught by Don Williams at the Hollywood Presbyterian Church. Dave and his amazing wife, Louise, have been blessed with four children (one is already with Jesus) and six grandchildren. When he’s not enjoying travel with Louise, Dave enjoys being able to meet one-on-one with men to talk about life and relationship with Jesus.
Growing up as an Air Force kid has taken David Gordon (that’s right, like “Flash”) Teixeira all over the USA. Dave and Amy met in high school, married and have three wonderful kids - Skylar, Dax, and Peyton. Camping and cliff jumping are often how he spends downtime. As a motto for life, 1 Peter 4:8 inspires the culture he tries to create in his family. “In the face of deep love, a lot of our junk (which we all have) gets pushed away and the Spirit of God is released!”
It only takes a few minutes spent with Doug Crane to recognize that he is filled with a high level of energy and enthusiasm for a variety of areas—from fly-fishing, to his family, and, of course, his love for the Lord! Growing up in Ferndale, California, Doug and Katy (his wife of 47 years) raised their two sons in the Portland/Beaverton area. They continue to be very involved in the lives of their family (including Doug’s 97-year-old mother)! It seems fitting that the beginning of Doug’s favorite passage from scripture, Phillipians 4:4-9, focuses on joy!
Dwain Fagerberg spent his early years in the wide open spaces of the Texas panhandle—specifically, Amarillo. He loves spending time in the outdoors, and enjoys a wide range of activities from gardening to hiking, biking, and running. He and his wife, Kristin, have been blessed with seven children. (You may recognize the two oldest—Anna and Josh—from their times spent singing and leading worship.) Dwain is often inspired by some of the great Christian writers. In every season of his life he finds himself clinging to a different area in the scriptures. “Scripture is so fluid in how it fills our lives that I cannot really chose a favorite.”
An avid fly fisherman, Pete Aman, is originally from Idaho, but was transferred to Oregon by his employer 33 years ago. He and his wife, Joyce, have four children and eight grandchildren. Pete enjoys the writings of Phillip Yancey, John Ortberg, and David Roper. He tries to live by the words of Micah 6:8—to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with his God.
